DELAWARE, Ohio With the return of one of its most successful teams, as well as the addition of another, the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League has released its schedule for the 2010 campaign.  The schedule can be viewed at www.greatlakesleague.org/schedule/index.php

Each team in the 11-member league will partake in ten separate four game series, resulting in a 40-game regular season schedule set to begin June 11. The schedule for 2010 results in an increase in the regular season, but the two most significant changes to the GLSCL this season are the return of the Delaware Cows and the addition of a new franchise in Lexington, KY.

The Cows, based out of Delaware, Ohio, led by Manager Dave Koblentz and will continue to play their home games at Ohio Wesleyan University. The new Lexington franchise is guided by General Manager Adam Revelette and will play their home games at Henry Clay High School.

The league also announced the return of the GLSCL All-Star Game to Western Hills High School, the home of the Cincinnati Steam on Wednesday, July 14.  Last year, the event attracted thousands of fans and scouts to observe some of the nation's best college baseball players.

All these changes look to highlight what is expected to be another successful season in the GLSCL, which will once again be led by Commissioner Dr. Kim Lance. The 2010 year marks 23 seasons for the league, which became the first summer collegiate league to be sanctioned by the NCAA and receive funding from Major League Baseball before a game had been played.
